Mullets, Hipster Pantz and a Steampunk Soiree

Sometimes I name blogs after the first thing I see when I start writing them.

I JUST looked out the window again and saw ANOTHER MULLET. Please, please stop.  OW. My eyes.

This Memorial day has a bright dusty feel to it.  Seattle always has a dampness in the air, but today its exceedingly bright, dry and granular. There are people around, but nothing is happening. The cafe has just me, and two girls at the bar. I expect to see tumbleweeds blow by any minute. Maybe that guy across the street in the tight hipster pants and cowboy boots will have a gun duel with the greaser smoking ciggys next to him. Could happen. It would be way more fun then watching them loiter in front of the Value Village.

Bob Marley is playing in the background, and the sweet guy working at the cafe has a large pile of dreadlocks on top of his head.  I kinda want to play with it, because it looks like a big ball of  thick blonde yarn. I’m sure he would let me if I asked.

This was a good week.  It FEELS LIKE SUMMER.  All I did yesterday was hang out in the sun, and drink lots and lots of Caiparinhas with lots of shiny people. I reconciled with a friend, and so much of the anger than I had walked around with for months just disappeared. As I said in an earlier post, forgiveness is necessary and mandatory for those of us who have a conscience.  I felt light and warm again afterwards, I felt like my leonine self,  and maybe still a bit drunk this morning.

I got really sick in the beginning of the week, but the Heaven’s show went very well.  Our first opening band “The Deadly Nightshade Botanical Society” popped their cherry so to speak. It was their first show ever as a group. Then “Legion Within” got up and rocked it out. I wish I could have caught both sets more entirely, but I was talking to lots of well dressed folks. I was sick as hell, but I had a great time when AP took the stage. Lots of lovely people brought me Jameson. After a while I didn’t even notice my sore throat anymore! I’m waiting to get some more pix of the event, but for now here’s a couple I found to tide you over, just in case you couldn’t make it.

This one of Rob is my personal favorite.  Hilarious. Photo: Marie Wintonmarie-winton1

Here’s me and ArtVixn. You can tell that I am high on cold medicine and was in dire need of Jameson.  And yes, I’m just wearing a Fishing net as a top.  Shameless. Its my mermaid outfit. The skirt weighs 11 lbs. I literally couldn’t add a top, otherwise I might have fallen over. How tragic that would have been!

A great time was had by All. I’m happy that I was able to perform.  Friday’s performance was brought to you by Red Bull,  Jameson, Alavert, Sudafed, Afrin and lots of blue eyeshadow. YEAH!
